Puncture Repair

PUNCTURE REPAIR
CANBERRA.

A slow leak or a screw picked up on the Parkway doesn't always mean a new tyre. If it's repairable within Australian Standard limits, we'll fix it properly, not just plug it.

Sound familiar?

Signs you've picked up a puncture.

Tyre pressure warning light

Modern TPMS systems flag a slow leak well before you'd notice it by eye, don't ignore it.

One tyre visibly softer

Walking past the car in the morning and noticing one corner sitting lower is a classic slow-puncture sign.

Screw or nail stuck in tread

Common after driving gravel access roads out toward the Brindabellas or building sites around Canberra's new suburbs.

Hissing sound after parking

A faint hiss near a wheel after a drive usually means a fresh puncture losing air fast.

What you get

Everything included, no surprises.

AS/NZS 4457 Standard

Proper plug-patch repairs from inside the tyre, not a quick external plug.

Same-Day Turnaround

Most repairable punctures are sorted in 20-30 minutes.

Honest Assessment

We'll tell you plainly if a tyre isn't safe to repair rather than patch it anyway.

Balance Re-Check

Wheel is re-balanced after the repair so there's no comeback vibration.

Pressure Reset

TPMS and pressure checked and reset before you drive off.

Simple From-Pricing

Clear indicative pricing before we touch the wheel.

How it works

Booked in, in three steps.

1
Step 01

Bring it in

Drive in if it's safe, or call 1800 701 030 for advice if the tyre is already flat.

2
Step 02

Inspect and assess

We remove the wheel and inspect the puncture location and size against AS/NZS 4457 repair limits.

3
Step 03

Repair or replace, your call

If repairable, we plug-patch it properly from the inside. If not, we'll quote a replacement, no pressure either way.

Upfront price

From $35 per puncture, indicative

Applies to repairable punctures in the tread area within AS/NZS 4457 guidelines. Sidewall damage or oversized punctures mean the tyre needs replacing, which we'll explain upfront.

Workshop, ACT-wide bookings

Puncture Repair for customers across Canberra & Queanbeyan.

Screws, roofing nails and sharp gravel from Canberra's newer subdivisions and Brindabellas fire trails are the most common causes of punctures we see. We assess every puncture against AS/NZS 4457 standards and only repair what's genuinely safe to repair, sidewall damage and oversized holes mean a straightforward tyre replacement instead.

Frequently Asked

Questions answered.

How much does a puncture repair cost in Canberra?
Repairable punctures start from around $35 indicative. The exact price depends on tyre size and whether the wheel needs to come off the vehicle.
Can every puncture be repaired?
No. Under AS/NZS 4457, punctures must be within the central tread area and under a certain size to be safely repaired. Sidewall damage, punctures near the shoulder, or very large holes mean the tyre needs replacing.
Is a plug-only repair safe?
A plug pushed in from outside without a patch on the inside is a temporary fix at best. We always remove the wheel and apply a proper plug-patch from inside the tyre for a repair that actually holds.
Can I drive on a slow puncture to get to you?
If the tyre still holds air and isn't visibly damaged, low-speed driving is usually fine short-term. If it's already flat or the sidewall looks damaged, call us first for advice rather than risk driving on it.
Do you repair run-flat tyres?
Generally no, run-flat tyres are designed to be driven briefly while deflated but most manufacturers don't recommend repairing the reinforced sidewall, replacement is usually the safer option.
Will a repair affect my tyre warranty?
A correctly performed AS/NZS 4457 repair generally doesn't void tyre manufacturer warranties, but we'll flag anything that might if it comes up.
